Use the PDF viewer page count, not printed page numbers inside the document, unless they match. Covers and front matter can make printed numbering different from the actual PDF page index.

Sometimes you need only the invoice, exhibit, chapter, or form inside a much larger PDF. Extracting those pages creates a smaller shareable file while preserving the complete source.

Verify the boundaries

When a document contains confidential material, extracting only the required pages can reduce accidental oversharing, but you still need to inspect the new PDF carefully. A page can contain information in headers, footers, annotations, or margins that is easy to miss. Extraction is not the same as redaction and should not be used to hide sensitive content that remains on a selected page.
